I'm not sure what day this is of my fitness journey but I don't like to measure that way. I like to do it by accomplishment! Today is the first day I have been able to complete Kempo X in the P90X workout series since my cute little boy was born.
I wanted to quit so many times but I was determined. I knew if I skipped any segments then I would be giving myself permission to skip out on my workouts but I am so motivated knowing my weightless is going well- 17.8 pounds so far- and I am getting stronger. My endurance is getting stronger and my body is changing. I can feel it and I am beginning to see it.
I feel so alive. I bought some size 15 (yikes I know) jeans after having boy so I could put away my maternity jeans. My size 15's are getting BAGGY!!!!! Halla-freaking-llulah!!!!
This girl is going to make her man proud!

P90X Update
A week has gone by since my last post about starting P90X. Let's be honest did I really think I was going to block out an hour+ out of my day to workout? There is no way I can commit to that being as scatter brained as I am right now. I know excuses, excuses. I wasn't working out as a get fit fast fad that will only last a few months and then I would pack on the pounds again. I want to do something that I can continue the rest of my life.
For the sake of being accountable here is how my first week went:
Day 1- Core Synergistics. I did the whole thing. While baby boy was napping during the time I usually get ready. Shower, hair, makeup. None for that day.
Day 2- Cardio X and Ab Ripper X. Did great through Cardio; only stopped a few times to catch my breath. Ab Ripper X was a different story. My core hurt so much from being so awesome at Core Synergistics the day before that I had to turn it off after the first 5 minutes.
Day 3- Arms and Shoulders. I could do it all. The harder moves I modified but felt great!
Day 4- No workout. It was Friday and I am still not great at fitting in a workout around days where I have plans. Especially girls karaoke night because that's a workout in itself, right?
Day 5- No workout. Saturday. I had an eye exam for my granny eyes and then we went to the aquarium.
Day 6- Rest day. Sunday. Church and baby blessing.
Day 7- Baby boy six month doctor appointment and then family night. No workout.
I did great for someone who isn't in the best of shape. My goal isn't to kill myself off. It is to workout 3-4 times a week and then increase that as my body gets used to it. I read a blog about eating clean. No preservatives and no white flour. Your body is getting everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. Sorry left over Easter candy. Starting that and and phasing out the junk I eat. Let's hope it gives this tired mama a boost! Yay for health and fitness.

Day 1
P90X day 1
I am great at starting weightloss plans but following through and sticking with them is a different story. Let alone finishing them. The important thing is I don't stop trying right? So I have 6 months until our family Moab trip and I want to be in better shape than my pre pregnancy body. To do that I have enough time to do 2 rounds of P90X. The last time I was really good at following this exercise routine I made it 30 days, lost 10 pounds and lost about a pant size.
My biggest problem is I feel like I'm doing good enough to miss a few days. Then my eating habits go back to what they were before. And before you know it a year has passed before I even thought about working out. Haha oh man I guess that is why I haven't gotten back to my goal weight.
Time to be brutally honest. I gained almost 90 pounds while I was pregnant. Before giving birth to my little miracle baby I topped the scale at 262. Ouch. Since giving birth and my casual couple of workouts for the past 5 months I am now down to 211. Awesome so 51 pounds down and 41 to go before I hit the pre pregnancy range. I felt heavy before getting pregnant but now I am just embarrassed.
I do not want to feel this bad about myself. I can change that. I have control over what I eat. How much I work out and ultimately how happy I can be.
Day 1 of P90X. Day 1 of getting my life back on track. My goal is set and the date I will achieve that by is set. Let's do this.
PS. I always feel more energized when I work out so why don't I do this more.
